Srisailam Dam - Irrigation and Power Project - Andhra Pradesh - India

Srisailam Dam, constructed across Krishna river, lies in a deep gorge in the Nallamala hill range. Its elevation is about 300m and it is about 512m long and is located in Kurnool District. The dam is one of the twelve largest hydroelectric projects in the country with 12 radial crest gates. Srisailam Dam provides irrigation water for about 800 km(310 sq mi). It has a live storage of 250 thousand million cubic feet (TMC). The left bank hydro electric station generates 900MW of power and right bank generates 770MW of power.
